A Knowledge Map provides a highly visual, quick and easy way to display policies and procedures and provide housing organisations with best practise guidance and up to date legislative information.
First Adapt have collaborated with UK Housing and a team of specialist consultants to develop a suite of standard Maps which are applicable to all housing organisations and available for a modest annual subscription based on the number of homes in management. Currently available are the HR Map and the Health & Safety Map.
We have recently added a Green Deal Map, specifically designed for social housing organisations. Over the coming months, this Map will be further developed and it is currently available without charge (or obligation to later subscribe) to social landlords who wish to pilot it through its early stages.

Hosted centrally the Maps are a repository for staff knowledge, often lost over time, and provide a valuable training vehicle for new starters. They also promote a self-serving culture and enable organisations to improve their consistency and efficiency.

The HR Knowledge Map provides all the core information an organisation needs relating to HR policies and procedures and provides reassurance that the information is accurate, consistent and up to date.
Legislative changes affecting HR are updated centrally, so you will always have the latest information available via your Knowledge Map. Available as a separate service, the standard HR Map can be tailored to accommodate policies which are specific to you organisation, a relevant option for larger or indeed specialist organisations. If you want the Map to tie in with your organisation's overall branding, that's easily done too.
All organisations have a duty of care when it comes to Health & Safety and keeping policies and procedures up to date in line with the latest legislation forms a key part of that process.
Our standard Health & Safety Knowledge Map is designed to meet the needs of all housing organisations. As with all our Maps, it can be tailored separately to accommodate policies which are specific to you organisation.
Effective from this October, The Green Deal is at the centre of the Government's Energy Act 2011 and is aimed at improving the energy efficiency of all existing homes without up-front costs to home owners.
